Simpsons Comics / Re: Bart Simpson #100

If you can, I recommend getting at least this one issue as it really was quite awesome.
It's 3.25~ on Ebay from a shop in Croydon so I'll nab one when I get paid on Friday.

That said, I do still have my affiliate code for MyComicShop.com: http://www.mycomicshop.com/?AffID=781801P01 so any order from that nabs me 15% credit which I can use to buy more comics. :P

I still have $14 credit from 2013 from my last order of my own from them.

They actually decided to end the Bart Simpson line?

I haven't been following the comics since I left uni because of funds, but the Bart line was easily my favourite because it allowed them to explore more slice of life stories which I liked to read.

So... Is this place dead? A shame.
The only reason I'm keeping it around is for WOTS4. Once that's done, I don't really have any desire to continue beyond it. WOTS4 is my last hurrah.

I feel like I'm talking to myself.
That's not something that's new.

I wish Gustavo was still around...
He was never on MT2 anyway, and if I'm blunt doesn't know how to own a forum or engage with a Community.

Video Games and Consoles / Re: Simpson's Tapped Out Game
« on: June 12, 2015, 05:17:13 AM »
I play it every now and then on my iPad when I get the chance. It used to be daily, but I've moved onto focusing on other games for my Lets Play channel.

As for the forum, it's dead. I only keep it around so that WOTS will still work. As far as I'm concerned the Simpsons Community moved on with life years ago.

Yes.

But you are aware that these days, Metadata pretty much does nothing and it's not worth blocking. I doubt your ISP is blocking it in the slightest. DA is probably just down for you briefly.

And do me a favor, stop posting those kinds of posts, or else I'll start deleting them when I see them.

He does seem to have issues with me discussing it, though. Was there some memo I missed?

Where?  I don't see any reason why he would...

1. I don't think it'd be announced any time soon, and even not leading into the runup towards that episode. All we know is that neither Harry Shearer nor Hank Azaria voices the character. Since in the former's case it's an Emmy Award Winner and case of the latter he's outright said as much.

2. "Lisa Squared" isn't exactly a trademarked phrase, so he shouldn't depending on the context in which you refer to it.

Yeah, it's hard to tell if they got banned or voluntarily deactivated their account.
The latter most of the time I'm guessing.

And I just haven't seen your NHC link for a while.
That just means that I removed it. It's unrelated.

While you're right about the fact that there's not really any more Simpsons Fan Sites, and the old ones are dead. The owners of the old sites including myself, have gotten older since the sites were established mostly when they were in their teens and are now in their late-twenties to early thirties.

To put that into perspective, I took control of TCB in 2004 when I was 17. It's ten years on and I am now approaching 27. I've moved onto other projects, such as SMF, my dissertation and my Lets Plays, the only real reason I'm keeping WOTS around is because I use it as a testing ground. Neither Leif or I have actually produced any new content for it in about a year.

The NHC is still around, and I've not seen many fanartists get banned on DA, a majority deactivate their accounts for no real reason.

How did you check if it was just you beyond Downforme? Was your only check to check every computer in your house?

It's certainly up for me.

What does "Word On The Street" mean ?

WOTS = War of the Simpsons. It's the short name for the site this forum is integrated with: http://babysimpson.co.uk

Uh... What?

You mean guests quoting posts? Because there - the obstacles are the fact that guests aren't allowed to post outside of the WOTS update board, and even there they'd need to pass three verification questions and a CAPTCHA.

Uh-huh. Meh. I don't care about your hosting to be frank. Do as you please there.

I'd rather ask as to why I should give a shit if it does or not.

There's no need to modify Post.php the ability to use index.php?msg=[MESSAGE ID] is a default feature in 2.0. All I've done is make it so that feature is actually known about.

My code is relatively simple:

Code: [Select]
' , $scripturl , '?msg=' , $message['id'] , '
Wrapped in a setting that's tied into Settings.template.php

Do you mean that "Re:" prefix
should be reserved in post subtitles along the dialogue ?
Just keep everything you want to say to me in this topic and you'll be fine. The subject line is forbidden from being renamed as it confused users on MT2. So I've forever banned it on any subsequent forum that I own. With this being the only one.

I do have a local install of an updated theme that removes it entirely from subsequent posts optionally.

Can you arrange this your implementation
in a form of the mod package
to share with other forums ?
Could. But wont. It's implemented into Multi Milk 2 theme which is available on the theme site. Which is as about close of getting it in a package as you're going to get.

Because of the indefiniteness
of who is the original author of the modification -
you or vbgamer45 or Arantor or somebody else.
According to the site, the original author is Runic. He's left the company to pursue personal interests.

The implementation in my theme is different from Runic's and doesn't use any code from the mod.

And in any case - what was the purpose of this modification
for your forum ?
What I have on my forum isn't really much of your business.

And I'll say again, you are not to modify the subject title of your messages. Do it again, and I'll remove you and this topic. Do I make myself clear?

No, It's something I wrote into the theme.
