A fairly simple topic, how do you store your comics to keep them in good condition.

Personally, for the US editions, I keep mine in a dedicated acid-free box, in my room, with each comic getting it's own bag and board, unless the comics I buy come with bags, (which only generally applies to the new ones), I use the ComicCare brand.

At the moment, I only have one box, but my collection is expanding so fast, that I'll need another one soon enough.

My UK editions are in bad shape because of how Titan treats them, so they sit on the shelf in the open. I'll probably sell each issue for no more than £1 each. (Which would actually total £200)

In all the ebay stores I see, ComicCare seems to be the only ones I can find. And I've read reviews on them being the best, which is probably why they're so popular, and I have to agree.

Yeah, I've purchased bags from both comic book stores in my city and both of them stock only ComicCare bags. One of them recently switched to them, the bags they used to use were terrible. Way too thick and dirt would stick to them like crazy. Pretty shitty when you're trying to protect comics.

Heh. I just noticed that A Place in Space, the shop I buy most new issues from (which is in Croydon) uses Comic Concept bags instead of Comic Care, though, they're still pretty decent too.

Yeah, I use Silver Age bags and boards too. My box is only a small one. The tradebacks are stored inside it also, but that's just while the box is filling up to keep them vertical. I did originally use The Simpsons World to keep them upright, but the comics expanded so that it wouldn't anymore and I switched to using the tradebacks.

The UK comics aren't worthy of being bagged, boarded and boxed. :P

I just keep mine in the bookshelf along with the DVD's. But then again, i don't have that many Simpsons Comics yet.  :-X

It's not a good idea to have them on a shelf. Or at least not in the open. Keep them in a box, out of sunlight, otherwise they'll yellow faster and will get brittle.

There are various stores online, where you can buy comic book boxes. They are stackable in most recommendations for up to 4 tiers, and there are also drawer boxes, that form a pseudo bookshelf.

I'd like to see pictures of people's collections, in their storage units. :P

Except for Illustrated 2012, I'm not going to go for Reprints as Classics are Magazine sized, which I don't have a box for, though Treasure Trove I might look into since it was only 4 issues. I have the UK version of #1, which doesn't count as in the UK they made their own versions of treasure trove with what looks to be other random stories since there's a #9 on eBay.

Treasure Trove is an oddity in that it actually started in the UK, then was released in Australia, and then it was picked up in the US, which is why there's more issues in the UK than the US (in Australia we got up to #8). I guess after they got through a few issues in the US that Bongo decided they could do better, which is why they do Simpsons Illustrated instead.

So to that end, even without them would you consider the collection complete? Some are more picky about "complete" than others.

I would honestly call a collection complete as long as it had the comics as they were originally released - I wouldn't make it necessary to have what are ultimately just reprints of earlier comics in order to call it a full collection.
